Cuando tuve mi primer encuentro con ellos sabía que tenía que afotarlos, no ha sido fácil, su hábitat preferido son los humedales, carrizales y vegetación de orillas, así que tuve que emplearme con el hidrohide ( aguardo flotante ). Estas son hembras, el macho parece que se hace rogar, es cuestión de tiempo. Son originarios de África, concretamente del sur del Sahara, pero el destino ha hecho que los tengamos en nuestros campos de Badajoz. He tenido suerte y me encontré con uno de los machos, dos o tres tomas pude hacerle.
