Es especie de ave paseriforme, pájaro pequeño, de vuelo ágil, y rápido aleteo, mide unos 12 cms de longitud, y unos 18 de envergadura. La espalda o parte superior es parda y la inferior mucho mas clara. Suele ser el primero en llegar a Europa tras la migración. Se congregan en colonias y hacen los nidos excavando los taludes de tierra o arena. Ponen en dos nidadas de 4 a 5 huevos, entre abril y junio. Se alimenta de insectos capturandolos en vuelo. estas imágenes están hechas en una laguna gravera donde existe una gran congregación de estos ejemplares. La caña posadero no estaba destinada a ellos, pero insistían en tomarla de ahí hacerles el reportaje. El aguardo es hidrohide ( aguardo flotante ). El lugar está muy cerca de Badajoz capital.
