AVUTARDA COMÚN ( Otis tarda )

Llevaba mucho tiempo detrás de esta especie, desde el invierno que es cuando comencé a trabajarlas, estudiando sus rutas, sus movimientos por las llanuras Extremeñas y en este caso por las de Badajoz. Han sido muchos días de espera, de aguardos esperándolas, muchos de esos días ni siquiera las vi, ni se asomaron por donde yo estaba, montaba mi escondite en lugares que las había visto, esto de noche para que no me vieran llegar y cuando amanecía se iban por otra ruta distinta, aun así nunca perdí la esperanza de tenerlas delante del objetivo de mi cámara. Mi amigo Michel se ofreció a llevarme por donde estaban y con la gran ayuda de Carlos el acercamiento ha sido importante. Mas tiempo de seguirlas, y de volver a esperarlas. Por fin he podido fotografiarlas, con muchos impedimentos por culpa del entorno donde se mueven, no he podido situarme donde quise por estar el terreno sembrado, y otros sembrados se interponían entre ellas y yo. No las tengo como hubiese querido pero ya volveré a por ellas con las mismas ganas de siempre.

MORITO COMÚN ( Plegadis falcinellus )

Esta especie hace algunos años que está colonizando los humedales de Badajoz capital. En la zona conocida como Azud de la Granadilla se encuentran bastantes tranquilos, podemos observarlos perfectamente mientras se alimentan en las orillas y corrientes del río Guadiana, no hay que alejarse mucho de la ciudad para disfrutar de ellos. Hoy es la única especie de Ibis que habita en España y en Europa. Cada año va incrementando su población. Imágenes muy reducidas de calidad. MADE IN BADAJOZ.

CERNÍCALO VULGAR ( Falco tinnunculus )

Ganas tenía de encontrármelo de cara, tenerlo cerca y poder disfrutar con esta maravillosa ave. Mucho tiempo hacía que los veía sobre una terraza de un edificio en Badajoz capital. Conseguí los debidos permisos para poder acceder a ella. Monté mi aguardo y me dispuse a esperarlos. Constantemente sobre volaban la zona, era cuestión de tiempo que quisieran posarse unos instantes para regalarme esas fotografías tan deseadas. Nunca vieron que me ocultaba allí, asunto muy importante para no molestarlos ni causarles desconfianzas. Después de le sesión de fotos no volví a subir a ese lugar, ellos continúan revoloteando por allí.

GRULLA COMÚN ( Grus grus )

Estos bellos animales nos visitan todos los años en nuestra querida tierra Extremeña.  Llegando el otoño, cuando las temperaturas empiezan a descender ya estamos alerta esperando el viaje de vuelta que las traerá de nuevo con nosotros.  Inconfundible su canto mientras surcan volando los cielos:  gru-gru-gru. Miles de grullas llegan a Badajoz. Vienen desde el norte de Europa a pasar aquí el invierno. Las dehesas ofreciendo sus ricos frutos de bellotas en los encinares son muy visitadas por esta especie alada. Mientras permanezcan las temperaturas invernales permanecerán por aquí, y serán ellas quienes nos avisen de la llegada de la primavera con el cambio estacional cuando levanten el vuelo para regresar de nuevo al norte. Estas fotografías las hice en las instalaciones de Jardines de Morante, con mi amigo Juan Bouza, su gerente.

PARDILLO COMÚN ( Carduelis cannabina )

Los veía revolotear por los campos, me atraía su colorido, pero nunca los había tenido delante de mi para poder enfocarlos con mi cámara. Hace pocos días aparecieron por mi último aguardo, vino una pareja, se posaban entre la vegetación, de rama en rama, estuve paciente con ellos, no quería que se fueran sin dejarme su foto. El macho llegó a posarse relativamente cerca de mi, pude hacerle algunas tomas. Les gustan los terrenos abiertos o llanos, con matorrales donde hacer sus nidos. El macho como vemos en las fotos presenta el pecho rojizo en época  de cría, las hembras y las crías no tienen ese rojo tan vistoso de los machos. Fotos hechas muy cerca de Badajoz capital.

MIRLO COMÚN ( Turdus merula )

Desde niño los conozco, podría decir que me crié entre ellos, en mi pueblo había muchísimos mirlos, criaban en los arboles junto a nuestras casas. Ahora soy bastante mayor que entonces y continuo disfrutando de ellos en cualquier parque o jardín de la ciudad. El color negro del macho destaca del verde de la vegetación, podemos observarlos en sus correrías por el suelo, ademas del negro plumaje tiene un aro amarillo rodeando el ojo y su pico también amarillo intenso. Los jóvenes como las hembras son mas marrones y no presentan esos colores amarillos de los machos. Son omnívoros, se alimentan de lombrices, gusanos, frutas etc...
