GAVIOTA REIDORA ( Chroicocephalus ridibundus )

They would not approaching more to my position, and the day it was cloudy and threatening rain. The images are made close to Badajoz capital.

In late summer or early fall are appearing for Badajoz, they begin to form their colonies of wintering. They become very many sides that spend the winter here in our land Extremadura. Some of these photos I present are in a pond close to the city, it was a bad, very foggy day, after diving to catch the fish that feed on sought along the shore where posing to dry its feathers, I was lucky since they came where I was. Intakes are in swimming are made from old bridge or gate palma, heart of the city. The cormorant with the pecho-barriga color course is young and that is swimming dark pecho-barriga is adult.

This winter rains have produced major flooding in the rivers, one of these consequences is this gift that has brought us the nature and wetlands near the Guadiana river as it passes through Badajoz are suitable locations as areas of reception among other birds to these was. Four spent the morning tracking with their beaks dipped in the water in search of frogs, worms, insects, etc.., not a moment they stood, the session was rather complicated, to its incessant wandering have to add that at times it was raining and in general very good light. It is known that a couple has long breeding here on the River in Badajoz capital.

I was very lucky to be able to spend a day in the Park of Monfragüe, from the top of the castle there is a spectacular view, the dehesa is lost from view in the distance. Much more about the Rocky crags, with its sharp and steep ridges harbouring these large winged that I present. His flight, soft and majestic, above our heads, drifting in the wind, and sometimes with landing maneuvers to their favorite places of rest. If they can not stop pass someday among them because they will remember it forever.

ANDARRIOS CHICO ( Actitis hypoleucos )
The Sandpiper is very nice, oblivious to who is behind the camouflaged area comes directly to perch a short distance from the lens. We can see it in their raids by the Guadiana river as it passes through Badajoz, thus by ponds and other wetlands near the town, is constantly in search of small fish, invertebrates and other insects that captures with its beak, which is normal to be seen as giving full of mud from the tireless work of tracking on the ground. These images are made very close to my house.
